Bruise
Progressive folk duo - 7:30pm - All Saints Church - £10
Isobel was a painter, singer/songwriter recently returned from Alaska, Jim an international drummer (Mark Knoffler, Sting, Squeeze included) looking to use his multi instrumental skills in something special, something special was Bruise a duo who make an authentic and original contribution to the world of progressive folk with stunning voice, moving songs and exceptional arrangements. Bruise has graced big festivals such as Glastonbury, The Secret Garden, The Rhythm Festival and Appelpop. They extensively tour the UK, gig in the US and Europe and have regular airplay from Japan to the US with regular sessions on the BBC. We are very lucky to have Bruise here as they tour with their sensational new album “Little Victories “ Bruise open a window into a world where irresistible groove meets graceful guitars, melody meets emotion and even if you haven‟t heard these songs before, wild horses won't drag you away”

The Hough Ensemble
Wind and piano quintet - 7:30pm - All Saints Church - £10
A wonderful quintet of Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn and Piano. The wind players Zoe, Emma, Antonia and Robert all trained at the Royal Schools of Music while the pianist Antony studied music and composition at York University. After playing together in various orchestras for many years they formed The Hough Ensemble to explore the contemporary and classical repertoire for wind and piano. They will be performing a programme including works by Poulenc, Debussy, Dukas, Stamitz and Mozart.

Troubairitz
Troubadour music and poetry - 7:30pm - All Saints Church - £10
Cathy Lesurf, Tanya Myers and Gary Southwell, last worked together on “Teeth Like Razors” a work which toured to national acclaim. Cathy Lesurf has written for stage and radio and had a long career on the international music stage, recording and performing with The Albion Band, Fairport Convention, The Oyster Band and Fiddler's Dram. Tanya Myers has a distinguished career in theatre, film and television and as a director of “Meeting Ground Theatre Company”. Recent films include award winners Control and Skeletons. Television dramas include Casualty, Silent Witness, Coronation Street, Heartbeat and many more. Gary Southwell is a guitarist and composer whose most recent score was commissioned by The Barbican to accompany the silent film “The Fall of the House of Usher”. Together they take on the music and poetry of the Troubadours in a story that brings to life the medieval Lady of the Manor, poised between the civilised beauties of the walled garden and courtly love, and the barbarous wilderness of a violent society.

SCAW
Bass clarinet and piano - 7:30pm - All Saints Church - £10
SCAW are a bass clarinet and piano duo specialising in contemporary classical music. Sarah Watts, bass clarinet and Antony Clare piano formed the duo in 2003 and have since performed around the UK and Europe including The Wigmore Hall and The South Bank in London and have given many world and UK premieres for this exciting and unusual combination. Some of their pieces also combine harpsichord and or electronics with the bass clarinet to great effect. SCAW have had many works written for them, some of which can be heard on their CD “SCAWFELL” released on the clarinet classics label.

The Southwell Collective

The Southwell collective are leading specialists in writing and performing new music to silent and archive film. They regularly perform at prestigious venues such as The Barbican and tour throughout the UK from Bristol up to Orkney. They have appeared on BBC television and at festivals as diverse as The Commonwealth Film Festival and The Tartan Heart .This is a rare opportunity to see them in a concert setting, where they will perform favourite excerpts from their acclaimed film scores as well as new concert pieces with their: Oboes, Bass Clarinet, Recorders, Ocarinas, Guitars, Percussion and Electronics.“Verging on the Sublime” “Absolutely beautiful.
